Alice Godfroy
Alice Godfroy is a performer and a theoretician, born in France, and currently residing in Berlin. She has studied history, literature and philosophy, and in 2006 obtained her “Agrégation” certificate in literature. She is currently writing her PhD about dance and poetry in collaboration with the University of Strasbourg (France) and the Freie Universität Berlin.
She is a member of the European Doctoral College since 2007. She has given conferences and lecture-performances on French poetry and phenomenology of dance. She taught Contact Improvisation at the University of Paris 13, and at the Freie Universität of Berlin within the framework of a research about “Emotion and CI”. For many years she has been developing her practice in dance: ballet, modern dance, African dance, contemporary dance, aikido, Contact-tango and Contact Improvisation. Over the last four years she has specialized in improvisation and created a number of dance performances in collaboration with other artists from different disciplines (music, poetry, video).
